Keeping your backside clean and ready for fun can seem like a daunting task. When you come into any of Funtasia’s three locations, you may be overwhelmed by the amount of anal douching supplies we have available. Learning how to keep things clean before anal play or penetration helps you feel confident and ready to take on whatever is in front of you!
We’ve broken down anal cleanliness and preparation into 6 simple steps for you.
Great question! It’s pretty simple.
An anal douche usually consists of two parts. The first part is a bulb where a liquid is kept and a tip inserted into your anal opening. These are usually the most popular choice for anal cleaning as they’re easy to use and relatively discreet.
An enema is similar. However, while it still has the insertable tip, it is usually attached to a long hose. It has a bag to put the cleaning liquid instead. Since the bag can be a little challenging to keep a hold on, enemas are slightly less popular than their douche counterparts.
Anal cleaning hoses are for the more advanced anal players. They’re designed so they can be attached to your shower or bathtub faucet to save you the hassle of finding your douche. However, since you don’t have a lot of control over the pressure or the water temperature, they are best saved for those with a lot of experience. After all, no one wants to burn the inside of their anus with scalding water!
As many people will always suggest, if you know you’re getting involved in anal play in the coming days, eat a light, high-fibre diet the day before. Stick to salads and leafy vegetables for a day rather than opting for the ever temping Macca’s. Take extra care to stay hydrated and maybe sip on a sports drink containing electrolytes.
Make sure you’ve vacated your bowels before getting ready to douche. If your faecal matter is solid and relatively easy to pass, then you’re ready to go!
If you find that your bowel movements are more liquid than usual, it may be best to save anal play for another day. Odds are you have remnants sitting in your colon waiting to come out.
Gather your materials. You’re going to want the bathroom to yourself for a little while, so make sure you aren’t going to get bothered.
You’ll need your douche or enema, a silicone-based lubricant (ideally, although water-based, will work), soap, toilet paper, and a towel or two.
Unscrew the tip of your douche or enema. If it’s a new product, you may find that it comes with a solution already inside. You’re going to want to get rid of that. Douches and enemas are commonly used for people trying to overcome constipation. So there is a good chance that what you have in there is a laxative. Not ideal for what you’re about to do.
Fill the bulb or the bag with warm water slightly below your body temperature. If it’s too hot, you’ll know immediately, so air on the side of caution and keep it a degree or two lower than you think is good.
Make sure to fill the bulb or bag as much as possible. You’ll want to squeeze all the air out before you insert it.
Then screw the cap back on and generously apply your silicone or water-based lubricant to the tip.
Get comfy! Some people like to lay on their side, their back, or even do this standing up. Figure out what feels good for you.
Slowly insert the lubricated tip into your anus, take your time. If you experience discomfort, breathe through it for a moment before slowly withdrawing or continuing.
Then slowly push the liquid into your backside. You’ll only need about ½ a cup to ¾ of a cup. Don’t feel the need to use all the fluid in your enema or douche.
Then clamp down! Using your PC muscles, squeeze to hold the liquid inside of you.
Your body will tell you when you’re ready for step five.
When you feel ready to release (you’ll know it when you feel it), get situated comfortably on your toilet. Slowly relax and clear all the liquid from your backside into the toilet.
It may feel like you’ve passed it all immediately. However, sit tight for about 3-5 minutes.
Right above your anal canal is your colon, whose entire job is to retain water. Give it time to relax and release all the liquid. Otherwise, you’ll be in for a messy surprise later.
When you’re feeling fresh and clean, stand up and check the water.
If the water in the toilet bowl looks relatively clean and free from faecal matter, feel free to move onto step six.
If the water is murky and tinged with colour, repeat steps three through five a few more times.
If the water is still murky after three or four times of cleaning yourself, then maybe it’s best to save the anal play for another day.
Once you’ve released all that water, hop in the shower and make sure to use fragrance-free soap on your bum. Wash thoroughly.
You can do the sniff test if you’re worried that you haven’t achieved optimum freshness. Stick a finger up there and check to see if it smells bad. If it does, you can repeat the douching process.
However, as experienced anal adventurers know, if you go to see the water show, there’s a likelihood you’ll get wet.
There you go! Six easy steps to freshen up your backside before you head on the pleasure express.
