Pleasures by Playful Admirer REVIEW

This is a really cool job. The people are fabulous and I get to talk about people's sex lives all day which is incredibly fun. The best part of the job is however, without a doubt, any opportunity I have to test and review toys. Today I’m writing about one such opportunity. I got the option to pick any product from the brand Playful, to have for my very own. I figured taking the opportunity to properly write about the experience is the least I can do. And hey maybe if this goes well I’ll convince the powers that be to let me test and review more toys. (please)

The toy I ended up going with as I’m sure you can tell from the title was the Pleasures by Playful Admirer, a remote control panty vibrator. I have been singing the praises of this product since we got it in stock, so it's nice that I’ll now actually be able to back up my praise with some first hand experience. It's really reasonably priced, comes with a spare magnet and the remote itself is rechargeable rather than needing a button battery like most other remote control vibes. It also comes in the most darling purple colour, which is simply too cute to pass up. 

I do also think that I’m uniquely situated to review what is typically considered a couples toy, since I am in fact, chronically single. So I think I can speak pretty objectively about the function of the toy itself rather than being influenced by the experience with a partner. Although *spoiler* I do think this would be way more fun with another person. 

The toy itself comes super secure and cute in its packaging and comes with a handy little black satin bag, which is very nice in this case because you absolutely want to keep all the bits together. It also came with both pieces slightly charged. This is pretty typical, so you can make sure it's working right out of the box, you do however need to fully charge it before you first use it. I probably should have timed how long that took, but keeping the toy and remote on charge until the light stopped blinking took approximately two and a bit episodes of American Horror Story. 

Washing it was super easy as well, the instructions just say to wash with gentle soap and warm water. Always remember to wash your sex toys people, even right out of the box. 

Anyway, on to the main event. The magnet definitely holds everything super securely in place, but I think panty selection and if you are wearing pants matters here, because the weight of the actual toy is gonna try and shift things away from you, so keep that in mind. For me, without pants my fairly old kmart granny panties (another possible contributing factor to the singleness) struggled to keep things firmly pressed where they should be, but this was rectified with a pillow between the legs to grind on a bit. 

First impressions were that it's a pretty standard vibrator, the settings were solid, I even enjoyed some of the patterns which I normally don’t like. Although the pattern that goes “bzz bzz bzz BZZZZZZZ bzz bzz bzz BZZZZZZ” sucked in my opinion. It irritated me every time I cycled through all the functions. Which brings me to another point, the remote only has the one button so you have to go through all 10 settings to get back to one, you can’t go backwards. There is something to be said for keeping it simple, but I think two buttons, one for forward and backwards would be nice. 

Things I really liked: The vibrations felt really good. Without getting into too much detail about my personal habits, I have fallen into a bit of a routine with my wanking so it was good to switch things up. It was super nice to be able to go hands free, the remote is pretty compact so you’ve got a lot of capacity to put your hands in other fun places, even more so if someone else has the remote obviously. 

Which brings me to my next point, I can definitely see why this is a couples toy. The beauty of this baby is that you give your partner the ability to control things. I think that dynamic is a lot of the appeal of this particular toy. I can 100% see putting this on and then going about your day around the house while someone could just give you a saucy little surprise. But that's not exactly something I’m game to try by myself, I feel like the suspense is the sexiest part of that. When it's just me, suddenly it’s just a person trying to use a vibrator and do the dishes. It goes from sexy to inconvenient and a bit pervy really quick. For those of us lacking in the partner department the 10 metre radius of the remote control function is a bit limiting. 

All hope is not lost for remote control interested singles. Something like the Lovense Ferriis controlled via an app and can be controlled from anywhere in the world as long as that person has the code. And I have discovered that there are whole subreddits dedicated to people sharing the control codes of their toys, so total strangers can do it. The app controlled toys also have playlists and other ways us singles don’t have to be the ones DJ-ing. 

Overall; would I recommend this toy, to a couple ABSOLUTELY YES. To a single person? Probably not. Not because it doesn’t feel good, because it absolutely did the job if you know what I mean. But personally, if it's just me, I want something that's efficient and can get the job done. In and out, I’ve got shit to do. But that's just me, and I feel like people who like to take their time more than I do might really benefit from it.
